"We Are Simple Deterrents" - Fall 2008
This is my final piece for my Intro Sculpture class. We could basically make whatever we wanted, so I took it as an excuse to challenge myself to sculpt the human figure. I'm pretty pleased with how it turned out. I've posted the initial sketches that I did for the piece below, because I was especially proud of how faithful I was able to be to my original design.
I realized halfway through making it that it was really more of a movie prop for an non-existent film as opposed to a work of art, and that I was having way too much fun making it.

This is really cool. I'd be mildly disturbed having to walk by it every day through scales but i think it works in it's favor. I'd love to hear the story behind it/ what you were trying to say with it.

don't tell anyone, but I never saw ANY of the alien quadrilogy, but google images has shown me that Ash is messed up and super cool.
